There are 2 main types of cannabis Indica and Sativa there are also 2 more not so widely recognised Ruderalis and Afghanica. Afghanica is the least known of the 4 and each type has its own characteristics.

Indica
Originated in Pakistan and India this type is very popular with indoor growers because of its smaller compact size with little side branching and compact root system it also produces fat condensed buds with a relatively short flouring period.
Indicas have dark green foliage and big fat leafs. They are fungus and pest resistant. The high the buds off of indicas produce is described as a heavy couch lock high.

Sativa
Sativas are tall with spacious inter nodal lenth and big wide root system and need bigger pots meaning less plants this is made worse by the fact they produce less than Indacs grown when indoors. They have long narrow bladed distinctive leafs light in color. Sativas take a lot longer to finish than the other types needing weeks and some times months longer!. This type's perfect for outdoor growers often getting to heights of 15 feet or more! they grow fast and get to tall for practical indoor growing as the flouring lights (HPS, MH) need to be kept at a good 3 feet from the tops of the plant meaning lower branches produce less and the bud they produce is loose. Some can be very potent. The high is described as a more clear giggly high.

Ruderalis

All auto flouring strains have ruderalis in there genetics as they only have around a 14 day vegetative period as they flower due to age rather than photo period. Then they switch to the flouring stage no matter how long the lights are on for. They are small, weedy little plants with very little THC. The high is often described as a headache ruderalis is a true ditch weed!.

Afghanica

Originated near Afghanistan it is quite short but some times reaches 6 foot with distinctive broad dark green leafs dense branching and short inter nodes most often with long stems. They are known for being very resinous and are very good for hash making. Most growers put this mistake afghanica plants for indica plants.

Please note that most seed's sold are a cross between at least 2 of these types trying to get the best of both worlds the pure breeds are often known as land races.
